The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some models have superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however this is something that you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surfaces. cheap robot vacuum includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rug.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of innovative features. However, it's important to note that it incurs recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads should be changed every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that has an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield specific areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to collect many of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was in the process of finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which can be a pain when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock that serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.
The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, robot vacuum cleaners means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
